Lazy Sunday and 737-MAX Adventures

2026-05-03

Captain TX shares a laid-back Sunday filled with site fixes, 737-MAX developments, and ideas for new challenge flights.

Another Laid-Back Sunday

Today was a lazy Sunday, perfect for nursing a cup of coffee while our beloved virtual airline website decided to have yet another seizure over malformed certificate requests. Fortunately, a quick rewrite of the site police was all it took to shoo away that little gremlin. Let's hope it stays away for now!

Work Order Shenanigans

In a moment of unexpected inspiration (or maybe it was just boredom), I noticed a peculiar trend: nobody seems to change the names of their work orders. So, I conjured up a quick tool that analyzes your work order names. If you've left them as “Work Order A” through “Work Order Z,” my tool will use a dash of AI magic to give them a more fitting name. Silly? Perhaps. But hey, we all need a little flavor in our lives!

737-MAX Progress

On the technical side, today was all about the iFLy 737-MAX. I wrapped up most of the critical overhead systems, including APU switches, packs, fuel controls, generators, and the electrical system. However, I hit a tiny snag in OnAir—after swapping out my 737-800 for the 737-MAX, all my prior 737-800 flights now look like they were flown in the MAX. Details, details... I do have a habit of noticing them!

As for flying, I took the MAX out for a spin. Let’s just say that I’m not a fan of letting autoland take charge of my landings. A few of my attempts today ended with an unplanned and quite assertive runway encounter. Not my finest hour!

New Challenge Flights on the Horizon

I'm considering adding some challenge flights to our site. These will tell you where passengers and cargo can be found at an FBO and where they need to fly to, with badges and rewards awaiting those brave enough to complete the flights. It could be a fun way to boost engagement and perhaps lure others into our merry band of aviators. Just to clarify, we’re not talking about men in tights—there are some things in life you definitely don’t want to see!

As we gear up for another week, I hope you all had a great weekend and that the work week treats you kindly. Until next time, clear skies, y'all!
