Black Square Impresses Again

Capt TX takes the Blacksquare Caravan for a spin and is thoroughly impressed.
Blacksquare Caravan Professional - A First Impression
I kicked off my night with high hopes in the 737-800. After meticulously planning my flight and getting everything loaded, I had just reached cruising altitude when—bam!—the sim crashed. Feeling defeated, I reset the flight and let the AI take over while I jumped into the Asobo 208 to tweak the throttle mapping.
As I was fiddling around, I recalled reading about the new Blacksquare 208. Without a second thought, I purchased it and got it loaded in. After a bit of a struggle to get my 750 back up and running (it had expired), I was soon taking off from KHQM Hoquiam Bowerman, headed toward KSEA Seattle. I even adjusted the sim time for some delightful daylight flying.
This aircraft handles like a dream! The FPS was spot on—no hiccups at all. The avionics performed as expected, and the sounds are leagues better than the stock Asobo version. The throttle and controls felt much smoother. Unlike the stock 208, where throttling back too much can send you plummeting, the BS208 allows for a more forgiving descent. Throttling back and approaching Seattle was a breeze.
As the hour grew late, my dogs were reminding me it was time for their bedtime snack, so I had to call it a night. But I’ll definitely be back to give it another go. The 737-800 can wait; the Blacksquare Caravan is calling!
